Big Bang and Korean dramas
Today might seem like a very normal Wednesday where I have to go put on my uniform and go to class. While I AM going to do that, I am also going to being seeing BIG BANG today in Bangkok. Ecstatic can’t even describe what I am feeling right now.
Updates later?
Anywho, the past two days have been really fun since every night I have been going to my friend’s room and just sitting down and trying to stream Korean dramas to watch. So much fun!
Last night we finally got to finish the first and second episode of You’re Beautiful. Internet has been horrible so it took us 2 days to just finish the first two episodes while munching on Pizza Company.

Post 13: Cambodia
Just arrived back from Cambodia…
Left Bangkok around 5AM on a bus to the Poi Pet border.
Spent the first two days in Siem Reap and then took a night bus to Sihanouk Ville.
Left Sihanoukville at 7AM Sunday morning…only to arrive back in Bangkok at 9PM.
—-what a tiring weekend it has been. But Cambodia showed me a fun time.
Angkor Wat was really fun, especially all the tourists!
Fun fact about Cambodia: You can use USD but don’t expect change back in coins! Cambodia doesn’t use coins, you’ll get your change back in USD or Cambodian Riel.
Finally studying for midterms!!! :D
Went to the Korean Music Wave Press conference hoping that there would be like a Kpop spokesperson…sorely disappointed.
However, I got to see some Thai kids dancing to kpop and they were alright. It was slightly entertaining though worth the taxi ride there? Probably not.
But my trip was not in vain since I am now the owner of one of the tickets to the KOREAN MUSIC WAVE HERE IN BANGKOK in APRIL 7!!!!!
There’s going to be 20 K-pop stars performing. For example: TVXQ, SHINee, MBLAQ, B2ST, 2PM, 2AM, SISTAR, T-ara, miss A, G.Na, IU, Boyfriend, Teen Top, etc.
Post 11: Midterms
Just had my first midterm today in my one Thai studies class.
I’m in the business program but I’m also taking “Thailand in an International Arena” which mostly focuses on their foreign policies and ASEAN, which is definitely relevant. The test wasn’t so hard since I pay attention to class enough to take notes. It was only two essay prompts though I did struggle to remember all the facts. Hopefully I do well.
Now my business classes, I have presentation tomorrow that I’m slightly nervous about! I don’t want it to be crap! Not only that, I have two midterms next week. One of them is 60% of my grade! Can you believe that?! SIXTY PERCENT…
If I fail that test…I will fail at life.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AKIKO! 022412
Your nose says that you are very kind…
I got my fortune told today at Victory Monument.
After asking when I was born and looking into his book and writing down numbers and other stuff in Thai, the palm reading began.
He only read my right hand and the first thing out of his mouth was that my first love would not end up well. He told me that my first love would break my heart. But as he continued to read on, he told me that however I would have very good husband in the future.
He said that I had a very lucky hand and will have a very lucky life. But I should avoid the color green for my car and my house because it would bring me very bad luck. As for money and work, I would have a very good job and be very well off.
He added that I will not be working in the States and will actually be working in a different country. He said that added with my long life, I will work very hard but will be well off because of it. Everything like car, house, money will be very secure for me. He basically told me you have car, house, money, looks, etc!
He also told me that I am a very kind person and very intelligent. He told me that I will do very well in school and even though I haven’t graduated yet, I will pass all my classes. When he saw my “kind” line, he seemed very surprised to see that I was a very kind person. And mentioned that he could simply tell that I was very kind and intelligent also by my nose!! LOL what?
But what saddened me the most was the fact he told me that my parent’s health was not doing so well right now. He told me even though my health and my love life is very good right now, my parents health was bad. Which I know isn’t a lie…so a part of me wishes that this fortune would be true so I’d be able to have the money to help take care of my parents. I don’t know what I’d do if I lost them. :C
More on my future husband though, he told me that my husband will not be the same nationality as me, that he won’t be born from the same country as me. Then he asked me if I had a boyfriend and the year my boyfriend was born. When I told him that he was 3 years younger than me, he told me that Dog and Goat is a very combination. And asked what nationality he was.
I guess you can see where this was heading. But obviously I’m not thinking of marriage right now! I’ve got loads of time until I’d even be close to ready for that…
the fortune reading was actually pretty expensive but the fact that he was able to tell me this all in English was helpful! Maybe I’ll go to another person another time and see what they tell me about my future.
Valentine’s Day in Bangkok
It was Valentine’s day in Bangkok and needless to say, Valentine’s is a BIG deal here.
Like seriously, flowers and couples every where. And it was obvious that flowers or something special had better been planned or else the guy was getting a huge stare down. The malls and roads were crowd, traffic was ridiculous today, and every girl seemed to be dressed up particularly special for today.
Everywhere I looked, someone was holding a flower or holding a box of chocolates or some sort of gift. It made me kind of lonely to be away from my special someone. I mean, I’m not usually one to make a big deal about Valentine’s back in the US but the fact that it is such a big deal does make one feel a bit lonely.
I ended up meeting my friend, Dackie, up at Central Pinklao for dinner since she hadn’t eaten. While I was waiting, I decided to take notice of all the couples since people watching is one of my favorite pastimes. I noticed that a lot of people thought that I was being stood up by my boyfriend from the sly glances and because I was leaning against the wall, checking my time and staring at the door. But at the same time, I would see guys holding their presents, anxiously waiting for their girlfriends. And when they see their girlfriends, their eyes would light up and they would smile brightly. Then I would see girls who were waiting on their boyfriends, who were probably stuck in traffic, and their faces frowning with each passing minute. At one point, this girl pulls out her phone and has this very intense conversation with the other person on the line.
Finally, my friend arrives and we go to find a place still open in the mall. Now, Thailand is very open to gay couples, which actually I didn’t see a lot of lady boys, I did see a lot of manly looking girls who might have been lady boys. I also saw a couple of tomboy-girls holding hands with other girls. So when my friend and I walk into the restaurant, we experienced the awkward moment of being surrounded by couples, and naturally, and was offered this intimate small two-seated table in the corner for couples. We both turned our heads to look at the table and viciously shook our heads to indicate that no we were not a couple, we were just two friends trying to eat dinner on Valentine’s day.
Anyways, when I got back to my place, I decided to do what I did back in elementary school. You know when you were younger and you had to give everyone a Valentine’s day card? Well I wanted to do the same thing, but didn’t realize how exhausting and time consuming it was! I made like 4 cards before I called it a night. I remember it being a lot more fun in elementary…and a lot less awkward to admit to the other students what I was doing at that time. Haha oh well, I still think it was fun to do.
